    Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy at Limitless 7 Clinic in Dubai uses gentle negative pressure to lift and decompress soft tissue. Our practitioners use cupping as part of a physiotherapy plan for muscle tension, stiffness and sports recovery, in a clean, clinical setting in Umm Suqeim.

    What is it?

Cups are placed on the skin and air is removed to create suction, or negative pressure. Instead of pressing down on muscle as massage does, cupping lifts the skin and underlying tissue, which is commonly used to ease tension and improve how tissues glide over one another.

We use two main approaches. Static cupping leaves cups in place for a few minutes over areas of tightness. Dynamic cupping glides the cups across oiled skin, combining suction with movement, and can also be paired with active movement of the joint.

Cupping often leaves round marks. These are not bruises from impact; they reflect blood drawn towards the surface and usually fade within a few days to a week.

    Who it can help

Cupping is commonly used alongside manual therapy and exercise for:

    • Neck, shoulder and upper back tension
    • Lower back stiffness
    • Post-training muscle tightness and recovery
    • Restricted mobility through the hips and thighs
    • People who prefer an alternative to deep pressure massage

    What happens in a session

Your practitioner reviews your symptoms and checks that cupping is suitable for you. Cups are applied to the target area, either left static or moved dynamically, typically for five to fifteen minutes. The sensation is a strong pulling or stretching feeling rather than pain.

Cupping is usually combined with other treatment, such as manual therapy, mobility work or exercise, and we give you simple aftercare advice: stay hydrated and keep the area warm.

How many sessions you may need

Some people use cupping occasionally as part of recovery, while others have it within a short course of physiotherapy. We recommend a frequency based on your goals and how your body responds, and leave enough time between sessions for any marks to settle.

    Who delivers it

Every session at Limitless 7 Clinic is delivered in our Umm Suqeim clinic by DHA-licensed physiotherapists and clinicians. The same practitioner who assesses you plans and reviews your treatment, so your care stays consistent from the first visit to discharge.

    Frequently asked questions

How long do cupping marks last?

Marks usually fade within a few days to a week. Lighter, dynamic cupping tends to leave fewer marks than static cupping.

    Does cupping hurt?

Most people describe a strong pulling sensation. We adjust the suction to keep it comfortable.

What is the difference between static and dynamic cupping?

Static cupping keeps the cups in one place for several minutes. Dynamic cupping glides the cups across the skin to work a larger area.

    Can I train after cupping?

Light activity is usually fine. We may suggest avoiding very hot showers or saunas straight afterwards.

    Is cupping suitable for everyone?

It may not be suitable over broken skin, during pregnancy in some areas, or with certain blood or skin conditions. We screen this before treatment.
